◎20人のモニターと選んだ用紙「HSライトフォース」

用紙の「HSライトフォース」はスケッチを愛する20人のモニターテストで選びました。程よい硬さでサラサラした描き心地です。軽さと厚さを持ち合わせた用紙で、128ページのボリュームでもわずか125gと軽量です。バナナ1本や6枚切の食パン2枚分と同程度の軽さで持ち運びに適しています。

◎丈夫な糸かがり綴じとコデックス装

本文は糸かがり綴じで用紙が抜け落ちにくく耐久性があります。背中の寒冷紗(カンレイシャ)という布を魅せる「コデックス装」を採用し、抜け感のあるデザインです。機械加工と手作業双方の良さを組み合わせた製法で、熟練の職人が手作業で1冊ずつ仕上げています。

The pages are thread-sewn for durability, preventing sheets from coming loose over time.
This notebook features a codex binding that reveals the mull (bookbinding cloth) along the spine,
creating a light, open look while maintaining strength.
Each piece is carefully finished by skilled craftsmen using a balance of machine precision and handwork.

◎快適に持ち歩くのための２つの工夫

ノートの角が折れてダメージを受けにくいよう、角丸加工を4か所すべてに施した“ヨスミマル®製本”を初採用。角が取れ やわらかな印象に仕上がっています。ゴムバンド付きでしっかり閉じておけるので、バッグの中で紙がめくれてダメージを受けるといった 予期せぬ事態も防げます。

Two thoughtful details make this notebook comfortable to carry every day.
All four corners are rounded using our original “Yosumi-maru®” binding,
which helps prevent damage and gives the notebook a soft, gentle appearance.
An elastic band keeps the notebook securely closed,
protecting the pages from bending or wear inside your bag.

◎シンプルなデザインに、遊び心をさりげなく

深みのあるシックな色調の表紙にゴムバンドを配色し、遊び心をプラスしました。さりげなく箔押しで添えたロゴマークは、yokobonの「y」がモチーフになっており、縦向きにも横向きにも使えることを表現しています。

A simple design with a subtle touch of playfulness

The cover features a deep, chic color palette, accented with a contrasting elastic band
to add a quiet sense of playfulness.

The logo, delicately stamped in foil, is inspired by the “y” of yokobon.
It represents the notebook’s versatility, designed to be used both vertically and horizontally.

◎名前の由来は製本用語から

「yokobon」＝横本。ヨコホンとも読みます。製本用語で縦よりも横が長い本のことです。ページを開いたときに横に広いスペースをとれることが最大の特徴で、写真集などに好まれています。広がりのある横本の良さはスケッチ用途にも適しています

The name “yokobon” comes from a bookbinding term

“Yokobon” refers to a traditional bookbinding term in Japan,
describing a book that is wider than it is tall.

This horizontal format allows the pages to open into a wide, expansive space.
For this reason, it has long been favored for photo books and visual works,
and its sense of openness makes it especially well suited for sketching.
